About the role

At Respo.Vision, we are seeking an enthusiastic Software Engineering Intern with a passion for machine learning and software development to join our dynamic team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the development, optimization, and deployment of our innovative data acquisition and processing system, which extracts 3D data from sports events using monocular video feed.

As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience by working closely with our engineering team on various aspects of the development process, from designing abstractions for functionalities to testing and optimizing machine learning models within the existing codebase. This role is designed to offer you a blend of real-world experience in software development within the machine learning domain, along with the opportunity to experiment and contribute your ideas in a supportive environment.

This is a full-time position for the duration of the internship offering a flexible semi-remote work setup. We value diversity and are open to candidates from various locations, with a preference for those based in or near Warsaw. Contract type flexibility is also provided.

Responsibilities/Tasks:

  • Collaborate on the design, development, and testing of new features and functionalities.
  • Assist in maintaining a streamlined and effective code workflow.
  • Contribute to optimizing and refining the current codebase for better performance and scalability.
  • Participate in enhancing the performance and accuracy of the ML modules within our extraction system.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate (2nd / 3rd year) or graduate program in Computer Science or other STEM fields.
  • Basic proficiency with Linux.
  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Interest in working with cloud environments (GCP) and Docker.
  • Fluent in Polish and have a good command of English.

Preferred

  • Curiosity about working with scalable/distributed systems.
  • Interest in Python's scientific stack: numpy, pandas.
  • A keen interest in machine learning/deep learning or data engineering projects.
